Operation G.O.O.D.
Each year our school participates in Operation G.O.O.D. (Giving of Ourselves Day). It is Heritage Christian School’s opportunity to send students out into the community to serve others. During the month of April, HCS students collect sponsorships in the form of donations for this service from the community to support Heritage. This year we are able to raise $42,254!
On Friday, May 13 our students participated in the service portion of Operation G.O.O.D. Our students split up and some spent the morning working with the city to mulch the trees at Penn Meadows Park, Quail Ridge Park, and Centennial Park. Others worked with the Army Corps of Engineers and pulled garlic mustard weed at Squire Point. Our youngest students picked up trash at Beaver Creek Park and around the school and also drew and wrote words of encouragement with sidewalk chalk at the park and in the surrounding neighborhoods.
In the afternoon we had an all-school celebration with a pizza picnic lunch, chapel, and games. It was a beautiful day to enjoy God’s creation, serve our community, and celebrate as a school!
