Introducing Miss Caitlin Griess, Kindergarten Teacher
I just recently graduated from Dordt University on May 7, 2021, with a Bachelors of Arts degree in Elementary Education and a minor in Early Childhood and Special Education. I am grateful to have had the opportunity to participate in Dordt’s year long student teaching program, PDS (Professional Development School), and student taught in both Preschool and Kindergarten classrooms. When I was not student teaching or taking classes, I could be found doing homework, working, or hanging out with friends or family.
Dordt College/University has been my home for the last four years but Sioux Center is not where I am from. I grew up on a farm a few miles outside of the small town of Sutton, Nebraska. I am the oldest of three children. My sister will be a Junior in college and my brother will be a Senior in High School next school year. Growing up on the farm, I loved helping my dad with different things, playing outside with our animals, and being around my uncle and grandpa. I also enjoyed helping my mom take things down in her classroom and prepare it for the upcoming school year.
I am so excited to become part of the HCS family and am thrilled to teach Kindergarten in the fall!
“Teaching is a privilege and responsibility that God has called me to and one that I will not take lightly. I will teach my students the truth of God’s Word, provide education that allows them to learn through a Christ centered worldview, and show them that they are loved by me, but more importantly by their heavenly Father who knows them.”
