Learning through a Lemonade Stand
Over the past two weeks, the 1st grade class has been learning basic economic principles. Based on a book they read, students began making a lemonade stand to practice their economic and money counting skills. Throughout the unit, students were challenged to consider how they can help others using the resources God has given them, so on Thursday and Friday, January 18 and 19, from 11:20-12:20, the first grade students sold glasses of lemonade for $.25, with all the proceeds going to Habitat for Humanity. Thanks to the students, staff, and parents, the 1st graders raised nearly $118!
