Academically Challenging
At Heritage, we believe we are called to instruct students in the ways and truths of the Lord. We hold them to high levels of excellence in all things, “as working unto the Lord, not for men.” The environment in which our students are taught is near the foundation of our pursuit of excellence.
What academically challenging education looks like at Heritage:
- Classes are capped at 20 students, allowing our dedicated staff to focus more attention on each student.
- Early elementary class sizes are even smaller, giving these young students a nurturing and individualized environment in their first few years in the classroom.
- Outstanding Iowa Assessments (Fall 2013) scores show the competitive advantage of choosing the academically challenging education at Heritage. (See graphs below)
- Many classes are 100% proficient, with most others within 5 percentile points
- In both reading and math, a high number of Heritage students scored not only proficient, but advanced according to Common Core standards.
- State-certified teachers passionate about learning
- Focus on nurturing your child’s development spiritually, academically and socially
- Safe and secure environment in which students can grow
To know wisdom and instruction, to understand words of insight, to receive instruction in wise dealing, in righteousness, justice and equity; to give prudence to the simple, knowledge and discretion to the youth. The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge. – Proverbs 1:2-4, 7 (ESV)
