Support HCS while you shop! A message from Deb Horning, Box Tops Coordinator

Welcome to another great year at Heritage Christian School. I’d also like to extend a big welcome to the new Heritage families this year. My name is Debra Horning and I’m the new coordinator for Box Tops for Education, Labels for Education, Tyson Project A+ Label Collection and other programs that are listed below. I want to thank you in advance for your past and future support of HCS. When you submit your Box Tops, Labels for Education, etc., all of these programs benefit our school – by sending HCS a redemption check or free merchandise for the classrooms.

For the 2013-2014 year, your dedicated support raised a total of $1,906.55! In the three consecutive years prior to that, our HCS family raised an average of more than $2,300 each year! I just know we will have another successful year this year and am excited to get to be a part of it.

Box Tops Classroom Competition

Although there are multiple programs from which to earn money or products for HCS, the Box Tops program is the one in which we have a friendly classroom competition each year.
Last May, the (then) 2nd and 8th graders won the 1st and 2nd place End-Of-Year Box Tops competition and enjoyed the yummy end-of-year ice cream party with, perhaps, more toppings than there was ice cream! The ice cream party will be back again this year for the two classes who collect the most Box Tops (per student) for the entire year.
Additionally, we will continue the monthly competition. Each month, the class that collects the most Box Tops (per student) will receive ownership rights to the Box Tops Traveling Trophy until it’s time to pass it along to the next monthly winner.
New this year: Starting October 1, 2014, I will include eBoxTops with the End-Of-Year Class Contest. However, in order for me to assign the eBoxTops to the correct class, I will need a) a printout of your eBoxTops submissions and b) the grade to which it belongs. Simply print your eBoxTops submissions from the website www.btfe.com , and turn it in to the appropriate teacher. Please see below for more information on earning eBoxTops for the class contest!

TIPS FOR MAXIMIZING OUR BOX TOPS EARNINGS:

1. CLIP IT BEFORE YOU PITCH IT! – Get in the habit of quickly checking all packaging before pitching/recycling it. That will help guarantee none will be missed.
2. SUMMER-TIME and HOLIDAY COLLECTION – Continue to collect labels for all of the programs during Summer and holidays! Register on-line for each program to receive email notifications of special bonus offers.

3. ENCOURAGE FAMILY & FRIENDS, MAYBE EVEN NEIGHBORS(?) TO SAVE LABELS FOR HERITAGE AS WELL!

4. CONNECT ON-LINE! – Register on each program’s website to receive occasional email notifications on upcoming ways to earn for our school. You may also view what our current earnings are so far, print recipes, teachable moment tips, and a variety of other things.

See the list of Programs below for website addresses.

LIST OF PROGRAMS

PLEASE NOTE that some programs are NEW to HCS this year.
From the list below, clip and save any labels/caps/lids that you purchase or have at your home or business (with permission). Most of the labels will be located in your kitchen, but also in your bathroom, school/crafting supplies, maybe on select Hanes products, and perhaps in your recycle bin by accident. CLIP & SAVE PICTURE! Each program website provides a full list of participating products. But, I say, if in doubt, turn it in anyway! I will take care of it.

box tops
1. Box Tops for Education – www.btfe.com
Look for the pink Box Tops on over 250 participating products (Complete list is available on the website.). Clip the Box Tops from your packages and turn them in to your child’s teacher some time before the expiration date. Each Box Top is worth 10 cents and they add up fast! You can also find Bonus Box Tops on select packages. Please note that Bonus Box Tops sometimes expire sooner than regular box tops. You may also get Bonus Box Tops on the website (SEE eBox Tops below for more great ways to earn!).
eBoxTops (check it out on-line!) – www.btfe.com
Visit www.btfe.com for opportunities to earn eBoxTops, also worth 10 cents each. eBoxTops need to be entered by you. In other words, they do not get submitted to a HCS teacher. When you register, you will be notified via email of any new Bonus Offers and eBoxTops offers. There are often daily-entry sweepstakes offers as well. You could give our school an earning boost of 50 or 100 eBoxTops or much more! The eBoxTops you earn will automatically be added onto the school’s earnings for the year. Your Box Tops account will keep a running tally of the eBoxTops that you earn throughout the year. You may submit a printout of this to your teacher if you would like to include this in the End-Of-Year Classroom Contest. Being registered also allows you to check our school’s current balance and how we rank with other participating schools in the area. There are also some awesome money-saving coupons available to print out. I believe, if utilized, these eBoxTops and the on-line Bonus offers will make a big difference in our earning power this year!

labels for education
2. Labels For Educationwww.labelsforeducation.com
When clipping Labels for Education, the program requires at least 51% of the barcode/UPC to be included. Labels for Education never expire. When they are turned in to your student’s teacher, Heritage can use the points earned for equipment and supplies. Labels for Education is similar to Box Tops in that you can earn eLabels online! This is another great way to earn extra points, and lots of them! Check out the website to see how you can do this. There is also a current list of participating products on-line. Just remember to check those barcodes/UPCs. These labels are sometimes not as obvious as the bright pink Box Tops and can sometimes go unnoticed. A few examples of companies that support the Labels for Education program are: Campbell’s soups, V8 juices, Pepperidge Farm, Post Cereal, Pop Secret Popcorn, BIC, Dannon Yogurt, Prego, and many more.

tysonaplus

3. Tyson Project A+ Label Collectionprojectaplus.tyson.com
Tyson will give HCS $0.24 for each label redeemed. Please be sure to check your Tyson produc ts for this label, and send in the entire label from the top of the bag or from the side of the box. We need 100 labels at a time in order to redeem them for HCS. Please look on-line for more information.

kellogs
4. Kelloggs Family Rewardswww.kelloggsfamilyrewards.com
This program can also be used for personal use, but if you feel like donating your rewards to Heritage, it would be very much appreciated! Look on-line for more information. Turn in the codes to your teacher if you’d like to donate them to the school.

Coke Rewards

5. My Coke Rewardswww.mycokerewards.com
Another new one we’re going to try out this year. Just turn in your qualifying bottle caps to your child’s teacher and we’ll take care of the rest. Check out the website for more information.

prairie farms

6. Prairie Farms – Our Caps Your Causehttp://www.prairiefarms.com
If you buy Prairie Farms products, we’d appreciate it if you’d turn in the qualifying lids/labels and we’ll see how this program turns out this year.

prang

7. Prang Powerwww.prangpower.com
This program is slightly more obsolete, but I noticed, when I was school shopping, that the Ticonderoga pencils had a Rewards label next to the barcode. This program helps schools earn free art supplies, and other writing supplies, like DRY ERASE MARKERS! I know that these are always needed and appreciated by the teachers and they are not exactly cheap. Maybe we can earn a few free ones. We’ll see how this new program goes as well.

I can’t thank you enough for taking the time to look through this large amount of information! I and all of the Heritage family appreciate anything you’re willing to do to earn money and/or merchandise that will benefit our school and students. If we just keep our eyes open for labels on our purchases made throughout the year, and get on-line frequently to take advantage of all the extra ways to earn for our school, I have no doubt that we will have a great turn out this year. Thanks again, and I thank God for giving me this great opportunity to serve. May God richly bless you and your children this school year!
