Introducing Mrs. Kurtzhals, 3rd Grade Teacher

Jenna Kurtzhals is an only child and was raised in Saint Charles, Illinois. She graduated from Saint Charles East High School in 2018 and graduated from the University of Iowa this May, receiving a Bachelors in Elementary Education and endorsements in math, science, reading, and talented & gifted learning. During her schooling in Iowa, Jenna had the opportunity to engage and teach in a multitude of practicum experiences at schools across the Iowa City area and on Zoom. Jenna is so excited to join Heritage’s team and teach 3rd grade starting this fall!

This summer, Jenna is getting married and moving to Tiffin with her fiancé, Trevor.  Trevor graduated with his Master’s in Industrial Engineering this May and began a new job as a clinical specialist, where he works with surgeons in cardiac rhythmic regulation surgeries. In their free time, Trevor and Jenna enjoy drinking coffee, leading worship for Veritas Church’s kids ministry, and playing board games.

My calling as an educator is to “…tell to the coming generation the glorious deeds of the Lord, and His might, and the wonders that He has done” (Psalm 78:4) in order to “start children off on the way they should go, and even when they are old they will not turn from it.” (Proverbs 22:6). Each day I will ensure that my students remember that God and I love them more than they could ever imagine and that God has a plan for them for hope and a future!
