Miss Nichole Early is our second grade teacher and has been with Heritage for 14 years! Here is a little more about her.
Where are you from?
I was born in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. I lived most of my childhood in Cedar Rapids, but also spent some years in Siloam Springs, Arkansas.
Where did you go to college?
I went to Luther College in Decorah, Iowa.
How long have you been teaching at Heritage?
This is my 14th year of teaching at Heritage! I vividly remember when I was in college, walking down the hallways of Heritage (the old building), praying that I would someday get to teach at this school. God was so faithful in providing a 2nd grade opening (the grade I really wanted to teach) right when I graduated. I have LOVED every year of teaching at Heritage and am blessed to have had the opportunity to pour into so many wonderful children’s lives.
What are some of your favorite things to do with your free time?
I really enjoy being crafty (sewing has been my most recent passion in this area), entertaining, cleaning (yes, I said cleaning), listening to music, and playing games (Settlers of Catan, Euchre, etc.).
What is something about you that surprises people when they are getting to know you?
I am afraid of balloons (popping) and rubber bands (snapping).
What is your favorite thing about teaching at Heritage?
I love the community that we have here at Heritage. It feels like one big, happy family (my family in Christ). It is truly a gift from God!
I am also really enjoying the fact that my first classes of students are growing into adults and that I have been able to keep in touch with so many of them. What a blessing to still be a part of their lives, to pray for them, and to see God at work in them. I am excited to see how God uses them to further His Kingdom!!!
