The Eagles had a great basketball season this year! All our teams worked hard and played to glorify Christ. We ended our regular season on Feb. 7. We did have to cancel a couple games due to the weather, but the ones we were able to play were played well.
The Heritage girls ended the season with three wins and four losses. At the end of the year tournament, the girls played hard and lost their last game against INCA by only two place, placing third in the tournament. Mollie Hansen was selected to the All Tournament Team. The improvement these girls, especially our 8th graders, have made is all credit to their hard work and great attitudes.
Our 5-6th grade boys ended their season with five wins and two losses. They also had an end of the year tournament where they played in the championship game and came in second! Caden Turnbough was selected to the All Tournament Team. They played with such enthusiasm and were so fun to watch.
Our 7-8th grade boys came out with six wins and three losses. They won their first game at the tournament and played every other game within two to four points, and Josh VanRoekel was selected to the All Tournament Team. We are going to miss all our 8th graders next year.
We had a great group of cheerleaders again this year, directed by Nichole Early. We always had a special treat at half times with our girls cheering us on and Sophia Aquirre performing a baton routine. Thanks to all of you!
The season ended with our annual Parent/Teacher vs. The Eagles games. It was so fun to see our parents and teachers play against our teams. It’s reported that our parents and teachers were more stiff the next day than the students!
A big thank you to our coaches, Jim Turnbough, Tom Steele, Sarah Franje, Jesse Foresto, Nichole Early and Connie Keel. Also thanks to Amy Tackaberry and the HCS parents for working the concession stand!
GO EAGLES!
