Our Teacher Spotlight for this week is Mr. Jesse Foresto, another of our three middle school teachers. This is Mr. Foresto’s second year at Heritage as the science and Bible teacher for sixth-eighth grades.

Where are you from?

I am from Illinois. I was born in Libertyville, grew up in Evanston and went to college at Northeastern Illinois University where I majored in Elementary Education and minored in Biology.
What did you do before you started teaching at Heritage?
I did many different jobs before teaching at Heritage. I was a daycare teacher at a YMCA for 3 to 5 year olds, a waiter at an Italian restaurant, a pig farmer doing pig “chores” (quite the experience!), an overnight stocker for a grocery store, and through high school and college I worked as a corporate library assistant.
What are some of your favorite things to do with your free time?
Since I was a small boy, I have enjoyed playing basketball. I also love studying the Bible, praying and worshiping God. Finally, I have a deep love for music and am currently working on learning the guitar. My goal is to write and play worship music!
What is something about you that surprises people when they are getting to know you?

Well, right now it surprises people to know that I am a father! (I still am surprised myself!) My wife and I just welcomed our beautiful daughter, Selah, into the world on December 14, 2012. She is such a blessing, and it is such a privilege to be
a husband and a father!

What is your favorite thing about teaching at Heritage?

I love that God is the all-in-all at Heritage. He is the foundation, He is our pursuit, and He is our goal. It is such a blessing to work in a place that integrates the Bible in everything, where Jesus is loved and exalted!
