Open Part Time Positions

Music Appreciation and Heritage Singers Director: This is a neat opportunity for one to whom God has given musical talent, a love for children, the gift of teaching, and a desire to instill a love of music in those that they teach. Our current teacher, Mrs. Munson, has done a tremendous amount of work organizing the program for the one who will follow her. The responsibility includes teaching 9 classes of Music Appreciation per week to PK-4th grade students and directing the Heritage Singers choir twice per week. There is some flexibility in the scheduling of these classes as long as the goals for co-curricular classes at Heritage are met.

PK-5th grade Art Teacher: For the one to whom God has given a love and appreciation of art, the gift of teaching, and the desire to help children learn to create according to the talents that God has entrusted to each of them, this would be a fantastic opportunity. Like Mrs. Munson, Mrs. Annis has done a lot of work organizing the art curriculum so that the one who follows her will be will equipped to start strong. The responsibility includes teaching 10 classes of Art Appreciation per week from PK-5th grade. As with Music Appreciation, scheduling of these classes is somewhat flexible considering the needs of the one who teaches, as long as the goals for co-curricular classes at Heritage are met.

Junior High Math Teacher: If teaching 7th and 8th grade students to think mathematically and to do so in a manner that honors God’s desire for their lives is appealing to you, consider this opportunity. These are intimate classes of 6-8 students, where relationships develop and a teacher’s influence can be even greater than those accomplished by those with larger classes. This responsibility includes teaching one Pre-Algebra class and one Algebra class per day, five days a week. These classes are held each day from 9-11am.

Middle School Computer: Our children are growing up in the digital age whether we like it or not. Learning to use the capabilities of technology in a way that is honoring to God’s commands to His children is imperative as we are all well aware of the dangers of technology used solely according to human desire. With that said, we are looking for someone who will help develop computer instruction at Heritage starting with 6th-8th grade students. Part of the development process is to assist in defining clear goals for technology instruction that directly compliment the mission of Heritage Christian School and directly influence the goals that we have for the students that we desire to present to the community when they graduate. These classes will be scheduled at the end of each school day (or close to it) and will take place in the computer lab. This position will require approximately 3 hours per week onsite.
